This page explains, in plain language, what Emochi AI records when you use the site, why it is recorded, how long it stays, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. Who we areEmochi AI operates the website at emochi-ai.com and the companion chat experience presented on it. Where this policy says we, us or Emochi AI, that is who is meant.
2. Scope of this policyThis policy covers information collected through emochi-ai.com and any chat session opened from it. It does not cover third-party websites you reach by following a link away from Emochi AI.
3. Accepting this policyBy using Emochi AI you agree to the handling of information described here. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
4. Age requirementEmochi AI is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age, and accounts identified as belonging to minors are closed.
5. Account informationWhen you create an account we collect the details you supply, typically an email address, a display name and a password stored in hashed form.
6. Conversation contentMessages you exchange with an Emochi AI companion are stored so the conversation can continue between sessions. Without this, memory across chats would not be possible.
7. Preference dataChoices such as tone, favourite companion, notification settings and language are stored against your account so the experience stays consistent.
8. Technical dataWe record standard technical details including IP address, browser type, device category, operating system, referring page and timestamps of your visits.
9. CookiesEmochi AI uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and measure how pages perform. Essential cookies are required for the service to function.
10. AnalyticsAggregated analytics tell us which pages are read, how long sessions last and where errors occur. Reports are aggregated and are not used to profile individuals.
11. Payment detailsIf a paid feature is purchased, card details are handled by the payment processor. Emochi AI does not store full card numbers on its own systems.
12. Legal basesWe process information to perform our agreement with you, to meet legal obligations, with your consent where required, and for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement.
13. How we use informationInformation is used to run the service, personalise conversations, provide support, prevent abuse, comply with law and improve what Emochi AI offers.
14. No sale of personal dataEmochi AI does not sell personal information and does not trade conversation content with advertisers or data brokers.
15. Service providersHosting, storage, email delivery, analytics and payment providers may process information strictly on our instructions and under contract.
16. International transfersInformation may be processed in countries other than your own. Where that happens we use recognised safeguards for the transfer.
17. RetentionAccount and conversation data are retained while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards, unless a longer period is required by law.
18. Deleting your dataYou may request deletion of your account and its conversation history at any time. Backups are purged on their normal rotation after the request is completed.
19. Access and portabilityYou may request a copy of the personal information held about you and, where applicable, receive it in a portable format.
20. Correcting informationIf details held about you are inaccurate, you may correct them in your account settings or ask us to correct them.
21. Objection and restrictionWhere local law provides these rights, you may object to certain processing or ask that it be restricted while a request is reviewed.
22. Withdrawing consentWhere processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
23. Marketing messagesPromotional email is sent only where permitted, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. Service and security notices are separate and cannot be opted out of.
24. Security measuresWe apply encryption in transit, restricted internal access, hashed credentials and regular review of our systems. No service can promise perfect security.
25. Breach notificationIf a breach is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the periods set by applicable law.
26. Automated processingCompanion replies are produced automatically. This processing does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
27. Fictional charactersEvery Emochi AI companion is fictional and the accompanying imagery is generated. No profile describes or depicts a real identifiable person.
28. Third-party linksPages on Emochi AI may link to external sites. Their privacy practices are their own and we are not responsible for them.
29. Do Not TrackBrowser Do Not Track signals are not standardised across the industry, and Emochi AI does not respond to them at this time.
30. Changes to this policyThis policy may be updated. Material changes will be signalled on this page, and continued use after the update means you accept the revised version.
31. Contacting usPrivacy questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@emochi-ai.com and are answered within the timeframe required by law.
